Ниже представлены основные рекомендации и правила на английском языке по теме безопасности дорожного движения (Road Safety), разделенные по категориям для водителей и пешеходов. General Road Safety Rules

  • Obey traffic signals: Always follow the instructions of traffic lights and road signs to maintain order and prevent accidents.
  • Never drink and drive: Consumption of alcohol significantly impairs judgment, vision, and reaction time, making it extremely dangerous to operate a vehicle.
  • Avoid distractions: Do not use mobile phones or other handheld electronic devices while driving or walking on busy streets.
  • Stay alert: Constant awareness of your surroundings is essential to anticipate the actions of other road users.

For Drivers and Motorcyclists

  • Buckle up: All passengers and the driver must wear seat belts, as they drastically reduce the risk of fatal injury during a collision.
  • Adhere to speed limits: Drive at a speed appropriate for the road conditions, weather, and traffic volume.
  • Maintain a safe distance: Keep a "two-second gap" or sufficient space between your vehicle and the one in front to allow for sudden braking.
  • Wear a helmet: Motorcyclists and cyclists should always wear high-quality, certified helmets to protect against head injuries.
  • Use indicators: Always signal your intentions before turning or changing lanes to inform other drivers of your movements.
  • Vehicle maintenance: Regularly check brakes, tires, and lights to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.

For Pedestrians

  • Use zebra crossings: Always cross the road at designated pedestrian crossings or intersections where drivers expect people.
  • Stop, Look, and Listen: Before crossing, stop at the curb, look both ways (left, right, and left again), and listen for approaching vehicles.
  • Walk on sidewalks: Use footpaths whenever they are available. If there is no sidewalk, walk on the side of the road facing oncoming traffic.
  • Be visible at night: Wear bright or reflective clothing in poor light conditions so that drivers can see you from a distance.
  • Do not run across the road: Walk straight across the street at a steady pace and avoid crossing diagonally or at bends where visibility is limited.
